Rosemary Hot Oil Infusion

Rosemary is a staple in most herb gardens. This plant is known for its stimulating effect on mind and body. It is antiseptic, analgesic and energizing. The therapeutic properties of leaves are most easily extracted by heating the material in a carrier oil. If kept in a cool, dark place, infused oils will last up to one year. You can use your rosemary hot infusion oil to reduce muscular aches and pains. It also makes an invigorating massage or bath oil.

Here's an easy recipe (makes one pint):

One cup fresh rosemary leaves

 8 oz sweet almond oil

Gently bruise the rosemary leaves to extract as much plant material as possible. Put the oil and the rosemary in a heatproof glass bowl, and place over a pan of simmering water. Heat the mixture for two hours at a very low heat. Strain and store in a glass bottle. How easy is that!
